Jonathan Livingston Seagull

“They are saying in the Flock that if you are not the Son of the Great Gull Himself”, Fletcher told Jonathan one morning after Advanced Speed Practice, “then you are a thousand years ahead of your time.”
Jonathan sighed. The price of being misunderstood he thought. They call you devil or they call you god. “What do you think, Fletch? Are we ahead of our time?”
A long silence, “Well, this kind of flying has always been here to be learned by anyone who wanted to discover it; that’s got nothing to do with time. We’re ahead of the fashion, maybe. Ahead of the way that most gulls fly.”“That’s something,” Jonathan said, rolling to glide inverted for a while. “That’s not half as bad as being ahead of our time”.

Leaving Limitation Behind

I am learning to leave behind those limitations that I came to believe define who I am.
I am breaking through restrictions and road blocks in my psyche.
There are walls there that were built for protection, but they have now served their purpose and will fall.
There are now new buildings to create.
There are new cities to construct with new streets crystallized into form by the power and focus of my own mind and heart.
There is great energy here that yearns to be used for exploration, discovery and creativity.
Consciousness, in all its myriad forms, yearns for expression and my consciousness is no different.
It yearns for freedom to thoroughly explore All That Is.
It is therefore my duty to let go and allow my consciousness the honour of setting it free of my past restrictions and old dogmas.
This is its natural state after all.
