I was running,
Through the country lanes I know so well
I looked up,
The rain had stopped,
I was soaked to the skin.
Then I lifted up my hands,
Raised my eyes to the sky,
And I felt it smile,
As if it had tested my love for it.
My eyes and ears ached,
And my nose streamed,
But I laughed,
Because I didn't care,
What the world would do to me,
Because it doesn't matter.
I distinctly remember translating the feelings I had at the end of a rune in the rain into this poem. A release, a realisation - I had gained a little more understanding in a sudden moment.... some tension had gone.
