Jonathan Livingston Seagull

“They are saying in the Flock that if you are not the Son of the Great Gull Himself”, Fletcher told Jonathan one morning after Advanced Speed Practice, “then you are a thousand years ahead of your time.”
Jonathan sighed. The price of being misunderstood he thought. They call you devil or they call you god. “What do you think, Fletch? Are we ahead of our time?”
A long silence, “Well, this kind of flying has always been here to be learned by anyone who wanted to discover it; that’s got nothing to do with time. We’re ahead of the fashion, maybe. Ahead of the way that most gulls fly.”“That’s something,” Jonathan said, rolling to glide inverted for a while. “That’s not half as bad as being ahead of our time”.

String and Bow: Tom Baxter

Half of what I say, I say in vain,
Though I say it anyway.
I loved you.
Underneath my armour there remains,
A hidden ghost of you each day.
I loved you.

Aim your string and bow,
And let it go,
Because I loved you.
Angel set me free,
Don’t punish me,
 Because I loved you.

Deep inside my sorrow I’m estranged,
Part of me has been erased.
I loved you.

I’m aimless as an arrow without a bow,
I’ve no direction, no way home.
I loved you.

Aim your string and bow,
And let it go,
Because I loved you.
Angel set me free,
Don’t punish me,
because I loved you.

On and on our story goes,
The river overflows.
Time and time and time again,
I’ve tried to let you go.

Aim your string and bow,
And let it go,
Because I loved you.

To Be is Enough

Liberation comes when you realize there is nothing other than Being.
All the Doing is distraction.
To Be is enough.
To exist is exquisite.

Forgiveness Prayer

I’m sorry for all the times I have done what I should not have done.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.
I am grateful for your unconditional love.
I love you.

Sun Rise Disguise

Sun rises,
I wear my disguises.

Tracing threads,
Across the sky.

On starchy mornings,
Birds circling,
Death defying leaps -
Like fish.

Lost in conscience,
You hide inside my heart,
Barely conscious.

I couldn’t give you my life,
But I gave you my love.

I Am Bliss

I Am Bliss,
I Am Desire,
I Am Love.

This Bliss is Me,
This Desire is Me,
This Love is Me.

I am sewn into your bed sheets.

And I weave my way,

Into your heart.

Watching Words in the Water

The Words come and go,
As I watch the water flow.

What it is to grow,
To reach up,
To stretch and
To be seen.

To remain alert,
But all the while serene.

The Golden Light of Home

In the evening,
We walk the fields of our dreams,
In the bright golden light.

You show me the way home,
We're hand in hand,
At each other's side.

And now my heart is aching,
In the early morning silence,
So near yet so far away.

I looked and looked,
I tried and tried,
And rarely got it right.

Little did I know,
All along it was you,
Hiding at home,
Who was wishing for flight.

And now finally you appear,
A shining star in my night,
A beautiful sight.

I'm breaking in two,
Because we're so far apart,
But you're always with me,
Here in my heart.

We're making a new start,
Now those stars are aligned,
I'm amazed at how they shine.

You've lit a spark in me again,
A light that I thought had gone out,
I'm whole again,
You're healing my broken heart.
