This blog deals with my search for truth and meaning in life - poems I've written over the years, essays, thoughts on the nature of reality and short stories as an outlet for my creativity and spirituality, as well as other words of inspiration that I would like to share. Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach is one of my favourite books. The Seagull is the source of my inspiration. I hope you enjoy it!
Jonathan Livingston Seagull
“They are saying in the Flock that if you are not the Son of the Great Gull Himself”, Fletcher told Jonathan one morning after Advanced Speed Practice, “then you are a thousand years ahead of your time.” Jonathan sighed. The price of being misunderstood he thought. They call you devil or they call you god. “What do you think, Fletch? Are we ahead of our time?” A long silence, “Well, this kind of flying has always been here to be learned by anyone who wanted to discover it; that’s got nothing to do with time. We’re ahead of the fashion, maybe. Ahead of the way that most gulls fly.”“That’s something,” Jonathan said, rolling to glide inverted for a while. “That’s not half as bad as being ahead of our time”. "Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn! Look to this Day! For it is Life, the very Life of Life. In its brief course lie all the Verities and Realities of your Existence. The Bliss of Growth, The Glory of Action, The Splendor of Beauty; For Yesterday is but a Dream, And To-morrow is only a Vision; But To-day well lived makes Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness, And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope. Look well therefore to this Day! Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!"
Invocation of the Dawn - Kalidasa.

How are you finding things at the moment? Are you feeling
the intense energies around? It's like everything is being cranked up - really
challenging me to go with the flow, but to stay centred.... it's bound to take time over the next while into 2012 and beyond to
integrate it all.
I'm finding there are more and more synchronicities and
opportunities presenting themselves without any effort on my part - people
turning up in the right places at the right time.
Along with the usual
flickering violet flame that pulses and swirls and moves at my third eye, I
also seem to be permanently bathed in a white light from above (like moon
light) whenever I close my eyes and in the dark I can see it. It's really
lovely - I can feel crown and third eye chakras opening - popping and creaking
like a sailing ship in a storm. Quite regularly I smile as I seem to know
exactly what people are going to say next.
Tender spots now all down my right side....I guess there's a
lot of processing going on...
I'm often finding myself in a semi-dream state even when I'm
awake. There's kind of a feeling of being in suspended animation, like time
itself is somehow completely different...have you noticed it? I find I lose time and I gain time. It's really
surreal.... one day I had a distinct feeling that I was on a new timeline or
path......it was disconcerting, but somehow reassuring at the same time...hard
to put into words. My heart is so wide open it hurts!
We're blessed to be here at this time to be a part of all this!

She said: “Remember that you should be able to feel confident (relaxed, satisfied, happy etc) without completing the work issue or being able to run – it is not what you do or accomplish that defines you!”
June 2011
Why do I lack confidence? It’s simple, I lack confidence because I tend to compare myself with others. Specifically, I compare my achievements (or perceived lack of achievements) with those of others. The problem with this is that it leads to a never‐ending feeling of discontentment and dissatisfaction. It leads to a perpetual drain on my energy resources. Ideally, whatever I do would be performed from a state of Being, which is pure contentment in that moment, pure acceptance of that moment. The joy I will then have in Being will be translated into the joy of Doing, which is the joyful energy of this moment moving into the future.
Is my lack of self confidence because of how do I define myself? Basically, yes. I have always defined myself by my achievements and I have achieved a lot. I wanted to make people proud of me, especially my Dad, but it should be enough to be content with my achievements. I tend to imagine others achieving better things that me – it’s a competition thing! From an intellectual point of view, I understand that there’s no point in comparisons, and I know this in my heart too. All I have to do is just recognise any thought patterns related to unworthiness, lack of confidence or low self‐esteem as and when they occur, embrace them and accept them because they help define who I am now. I need to know where I am now in order to grow into the future. The first step is acceptance of the unique person I am and that person exists now. The unique person I am now is a consequence of all the events of my past – all the opportunities to learn.
Who am I now/who is the real me? The real me is revealed when I relax into myself and be contented with the way I am. This has nothing to do with where I am physically or what I am doing. This is about an acceptance of myself to myself as I am. This is not to deny the possibility of evolution and growth, but there is no need to make it a necessity, no need to turn it into a mountain climbing, race running, exam passing exercise – it simply isn’t! When I relax into myself, I am able to gain a new perspective on myself and therefore of everything around me. I am seeing myself from the inside, rather than from a position outside myself – the position that others usually adopt because of the illusion of separation. However, being centered in myself isn’t an ego‐centric position, it is from a position of love and connection. In fact, because nothing and no‐one is truly separate, the only way to truly connect with others, to truly love others, is through peeling away the layers of the illusionary me, so that my true self shines out. That inner light is the real me, so I should not be afraid to let it shine! It is actually all about being non‐judgmental and loving, while at the same time being observant of myself and my state of Being, my feelings and therefore my actions. If I am non‐judgemental about myself, it is easier for others to also see the real me and to be non‐judgemental about me because they see I am transparent, I am crystal clear in all ways ‐ there is no ulterior motive, what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG!) ‐ the real, confident, relaxed, satisfied, happy and contented me.

Ra Ma Da Sa, Sa Say So Hung
the Siri Gaitri Mantra
From: http://www.sahej.com/Ra_Ma_Da_Sa.html
Healing for the Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan
Healing for Others
Healing for the Self
Ra Ma Da Sa is like a rare diamond, which connects you with the pure healing energy of the universe. You can instill the health trend in your consciousness by injecting this strong healing vibration into your mind. Then your actions and whole being will obey that thought. In order to change health troubles, we must alter the process of thought that brings the crystallization of consciousness into different forms of matter and action.
RA - the fire principle - symbolizes the Sun.
There would be no life on Earth if it were not for the Sun showering us with the pranic life-force. Working with the Sun is the highest practice of Kabbalah. The Sun is a source of energy, life and warmth. In other words, the Sun is the heart of our universe. It purifies and energizes.
MA - the water principle - is the energy of the Moon.
MA calls on the cosmos through the sound of compassion, causing the universe to become the mother and you the child, and this brings you help and healing. It is cooling and nurturing.
DA - the Earth principle - provides the ground of action.
SA - the air principle - is the impersonal infinity.
When sound takes place in the external plane, it becomes "A", which represents manifestation.
The first part of the mantra expands toward heaven. By repeating the sound SA as a turning point, it causes the spirit to descend from above into matter in order to animate and vitalize it with healing and life. In other words, the second part of the mantra brings the healing qualities of the superior world back down to the Earth.
The last stanza of the emerald tablet from the great Hermes Trismegistus, which reveals the secret of healing and order in the material plane, is followed in this mantra. It reads, "Ascend with great sagacity from Earth to heaven, and then again descend to Earth, and unite together the powers of things superior and inferior. Thus you will obtain the glory of the whole world and obscurity will fly away from you. The secret is adaptation, transforming one thing into another thing."
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung transforms an imbalanced and unhealthy body into an
harmonious, healthy one. As in the Star of David (a symbol of two interlaced
triangles) this mantra interlinks spirit with matter.
After SA comes SAY, which is the totality of experience.
SO is the personal sense of identity.
HUNG is the infinite, vibrating and real. Hung suggests Hu, which is the life of God in every thing and every being. The ng causes the sound in Hung to stimulate the divine glands. The sound of the breath is So Hung. The inhale is So and the exhale is Hung. The two qualities of So Hung together mean "I am Thou".
As you chant this mantra, you expand toward the infinite and merge back with the finite. Most people have forgotten that their essence is with the infinite, unlimited creative power of the cosmos. When a person goes within himself and consciously experiences his own beauty, he touches his divinity. Then he can reunite his destiny to his highest potential.
A regular listening practice is not only good for practical, preventative self-healthcare, but also it will aid in the assurance of a healthier life. It can help preserve the body and pave the way toward a positive mental projection. Chanting or listening to this mantra set to this classical tune will drive out depression and revibrate your life. It is timeless and can not be outdated. It has worked in the past, it works now, and it will work in the future. There is no time, no place, no space and no condition attached to this mantra. It burns the seed of disease. Use it everyday. Offer it to anyone.
If you work with it, it will work for you. In moments of anxiety, despair, fear or worry, let it be your safeguard. It will give you a strong sense of your own centeredness.
In the words of Yogi Bhajan, Master of White Tantric and Kundalini Yoga, who openly taught this healing mantra to the Western world, "It has worked for three thousand, four thousand years, why should it not work now?"
"I will find new meaning in every joy and sorrow. In that silence I will hear the voice of spirit, and freed from this world I will see another order where the end is another beginning."
